Surreal minimal photograph. A large hardcover book lies open on a plain white table, and from between its two open pages grows a dense miniature forest — tiny birch trees four or five inches tall with real bark and leaves, a small mossy path disappearing between them, a thread of morning mist hanging low. The rest of the table is completely bare. A woman's hand reaches from the left edge of the frame, fingertip just touching the first tree.
